World War II Remington Rand M1911A1 belonging to Floyd C. Meseke. A member of the 41st Mechanized Cavalry, 11th armored division, Meseke replaced the standard grips of his 1911 with transparent grips made from salvaged windshield material from a B-17 bomber. Inside the grips he placed a picture of his wife and aunt.
Before my grandpa passed he added clear grips with a picture of my grandma to his 1911. He fought in the Korean War.
